Montessori education encompasses a philosophy that recognizes and respects a child's need to develop naturally and fully at his/her own pace. The child's natural tendencies for freedom of choice, independence, and discovery are nurtured to help create a competent, confident individual with a love for learning. The adult is needed to prepare the environment in an effort to expose the child to a wide variety of possibilities. It is then up to the child through his/her own abilities and interest to explore what has been prepared and presented.
